Usually, make-up artists leave models’ eyelashes looking natural on the catwalk. However, this year, the focus is on the eyes, with a nod to the 60s. A massive hit back then was the thickly applied mascara à la Twiggy, and Peter Philips of Dior went one step further, drawing eyelashes on his models.
We also see the comeback of graphic lines in all sorts of colours, extremely hot in the sixties. This trend was already huge at the beginning of the year, thanks to the transgender model Hunter Schafer, who plays one of the leading roles in the Euphoria series. In the series, her character Jules always has brightly coloured and crazy eye shadows. The intense eyeliner looks of the character Maddie (played by Alexa Demie) has also inspired many make-up enthusiasts.
Red lipstick has never been out of fashion since you really cannot do anything wrong with this classic. The most popular lipsticks this season are matte and velvet, as seen in the shows of Louis Vuitton, Oscar de la Renta, and Versace.
The no make-up make-up look has always been popular on the catwalk. This year is no different, as skincare has become a massive trend in 2019. After all, who doesn’t want a glowy, healthy-looking skin?
After the rainbow manicure trend this summer, we are keeping it colourful for the rest of the year. The simple French manicure is back but in a different version. Almost anything is possible, from decorated cuticles to nail tips in any colour of the rainbow (instead of white). The classic French mani is also possible, but with an extra-long white tip.
