The creative director of Lanvin, Bruno Salielli, has been showing interest in the world of comics for some time now. For Autumn / Winter 2019/20, he introduced a collection for men and women inspired by Baby Babar. For Summer 2020, he has chosen to focus on the adventures of Little Nemo, drawn by the pencil of Winsor McCay in 1905 and considered a jewel in the history of comics. The collection consists of many dresses, shirts, skirts, bermudas, tops, t-shirts, and scarves. Sweaters, cropped trousers, chunky caftans, and sequin dresses in classic blue and white stripes instantly remind of the marines. The collection continues with 60s-like coats with maxi collars and boxy sleeves with petal-like flaps, masculine and tailored suits that are slightly oversized, baggy jeans, and pinstriped cotton suits. The accessory that stood out the most, besides the jap-inspired flip-flops, was the large, waxed and waterproof hat, used by sailors on fishing vessels. It seems that next Summer, the team of Lanvin is going to explore the wonderful world of nature with a touch of humor.
