Meghan Markle has ended her unofficial maternity break from work to launch a capsule collection with Smart Work, an organization that helps unemployed women by providing work clothes and interview training.
The Duchess of Sussex has asked well-known British brands like John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, and Jigsaw to participate in the venture (which will work as a one-on-one scheme: for each item sold, one is donated to a woman through Smart Works). Misha Nonoo, a longtime friend of Meghan, is taking part as well.
American designer Nonoo is best known for making white shirts, including the ones Meghan wore at the launch of Smart Works and for her first public outing with Prince Harry at the Toronto Invictus Games in 2017.
Nonoo and Meghan were friends long before the former Suits actress became royalty, and there even was a rumor that it was she who arranged the meeting with Prince Harry for Meghan.
Nonoo describes the duchess as "the most generous and genuine person. She is a sister in the sense that if you are her friend, she will do anything for you." In Nonoo's view, Meghan did not change anything in her personality after becoming part of British royalty.
