It is well known that Lady Gaga is a fan of Antwerp fashion. She previously wore a coat by Casper Werner and posted a ring by Dries Criel. This time she decided to show off with a creation by the Austrian Florentina Leitner (24), who graduated the Antwerp Fashion Academy in June last year. Florentina has briefly worked for Dries Van Noten, when she decided to set up her own label, 'Florentina Leitner'.
The black-pink faux fur coat was made as a part of Dressed by Antwerp, a project in collaboration with the City of Antwerp that started during the first lockdown. In addition, nine master students from the Antwerp fashion academy got a taste of what it is like to work as a celebrity's stylist. “I've kept the same style as my own graduation collection, but changed a few things so that it would be more Lady Gaga's style. For example, I used a brighter pink. I was sure Gaga would look great in it,” says Leitner.
Kylie Jenner's 226 million followers could also see her in the brand's catsuit after Kylie's stylist discovered the student on Instagram. Florentina's design was popular, as she is currently working on custom made pieces for her and her daughter.
