Idea of physical store came from people’s need and interest in Numbering. Especially in jewelry, trying items on before purchase is often crucial. It is only when you wear that you get the sense of its weight, feel on your body and the right sizing. Also brand’s exposure from celebrities and influencers were another triggering point to customers. We would frequently get requests on if they could come into our office showroom to try on the items they have been admiring. Overall our flagship store was a must to a better communication.
Numbering’s brand attitude played the main role in the idea developing, classic with modern twist. Main concept of the flagship store was a ‘private safe deposit’ which me and my husband have worked on together to modernise and make in real life. Just like Numbering, the flagship is about bold objects and fixtures filling in the space together, as an extension of our branding.
We have worried a lot over opening the flagship store weather if this is a right timing or not. However building of flagship has started way long time ago and it was due to be opened very soon when this whole pandemic has been going around. Thankfully we are located in Seoul, Korea where problems were found from the very beginning and had dealt with Coronavirus issue amazingly. After a careful consideration we have decided to open without any opening events. We do take a great amount of care in sanitising and staff wearing mask.
We would love to have more flagships abroad for sure. International sale and requests for physical shops are at increase for sure and this is something we definitely are considering.
Flagship is located in Garosu-gil in Seoul. Its location is the hub of fashion in Korea - the place to go for shopping and to catch the latest trends.
