The 80s aesthetic is returning to the runway as an inspiration for many brands, Proenza Schouler included. The location was very industrial off the West Side Highway, but Proenza Schouler's story was much more subtle. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez were mainly inspired by the women in their style department, many of whom started having children. Keeping that in mind, they then recalled the memories of their childhood on their mothers' work uniforms and the proportions of the golden age jackets. According to the runway, the workers of Proenza Schouler are wearing soft and unstructured jackets and trench coats, minimal dresses and draped with a new set of volumes.
This time, special attention was given to accessories, especially leather goods such as bags and shoes. Glasses and jewellery gave the collection some balance. The brand also presented its collaboration with Birkenstock, as a couple of the models wore the iconic sandals reinterpreted by the designers.
