It seems that the gospel era for American rapper Kanye West is here to stay. After releasing his ninth studio album, Jesus Is King, which consists of only gospel songs, West claimed that he's leaving behind his old songs. The statement is linked to the new professional and personal phase of the artist, placing much more emphasis on spiritual issues in his daily life.
Close friends of the rapper have said that Kanye is serious about his new approach to life and will no longer sing his old songs in their original formats, reshaping some lyrics for the new musical concept.
In an interview, Kanye said that he considers himself the greatest artist of all time: "It's not a question! It's a fact!" He also claimed that a political career remains firm on his agenda.
