There are no plans for a third "Sex and the City" movie, but if it does Cynthia Nixon would like Sharon Stone to take on the role of Samantha.
The duo virtually met alongside actress Sarah Paulson last week on the famous "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" program and the conversation turned to Stone's name as a possible replacement for Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones in the iconic series. Catrall notoriously does not get along with co-star Sarah Jessica Parker and made it very clear that she has no interest in appearing in another sequel, should that happen. Stone said she was aware of the conversation.
"I didn't know that, but any time I could have the opportunity to work with Cynthia would be an honor for me," said Stone. Nixon, who played Miranda in "Sex and the City", told a pleasant moment at the Emmy Awards show, when the four of the cast were performing and Stone was behind them.
"Sharon Stone came out to present her award and spontaneously said, 'Look at the girls in 'Sex and the City', don't they just look like a bowl full of sweets?" Nixon recalled. "We just went to seventh heaven at that point." After all, who wouldn't want to receive such a compliment from Sharon Stone?
And now Nixon has cast her vote for Stone to play Samantha. "I think Sharon would, of course, be totally incredible," said Nixon. "Kim was incredibly great as Samantha, and I think Sharon would get along quite well with her." Cattrall is currently starring in the Fox series "Filthy Rich".
