Zoë Kravitz has been confirmed for the role of Catwoman in the upcoming Batman movie. The Big Little Lies star will play Selina Kylie, and her alter ego, following the footsteps of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry.
It was rumoured that several Hollywood actresses were considered for the role, including Lupita Nyong'o, Tessa Thompson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Alexandra Shipp, Logan Browning and Vanessa Kirby of The Crown.
The 30-year-old actress underwent a rigorous testing process, where she competed against Ana Arias, Ella Balinska, and Eiza González. After auditioning alongside Robert Pattinson (who has been confirmed as Batman), she has secured the role, according to The Guardian. Jonah Hill and Jeffrey Wright will also be joining the cast.
Matt Reeves has been appointed as the director of the Batman's new version for Warner Bros., known for directing Cloverfield and Monkey Planet Dawn.
