Chanel has presented its cruise collection 2020/2021, Balade en Méditerranée, which literally means a trip along the Mediterranean sea. Here's what we saw: embroidered handbags that match the tops, strapless dresses to stroll along the beach, and black chiffon jackets as a go-to look for warm summer evenings. However, the highlight of the collection was the beautiful logo jewellery and accessories!
Capri to Paris
"Originally, I had Capri in mind, I wanted to show this collection there," says Chanel's creative director Virginie Viard. "But because of the lockdown we had to adjust. Not only did we decide to use left-over fabrics from previous collections, but the collection also evolved into a voyage throughout the area. The islands, the scent of eucalyptus, the shades of pink of the Bougainvillea. "
"It has a free, relaxed allure, inspired by legendary actresses of the sixties, as they vacationed in the Italian and French Riviera."
The Chanel collection was, as usual, exceptionally beautiful, but we were (happily) caught by surprise by the return of the double C logo jewellery - the definition of a classic.
