The Palais Galliera offers an unmissable invitation to discover Gabrielle Chanel's universe from a new perspective. The Museum presents a new exhibition that contextualizes how the acclaimed French designer's visual aesthetics developed, from her sports models of the 1920s, to her sophisticated little black dresses a decade later. With a chronological installation of her extensive career, the first part is granted to her beginnings in fashion with some emblematic pieces, such as the sailor knitted blouse from 1916. In addition, there is a room dedicated entirely to her fragrance - the timeless CHANEL N°5 which was created by Gabrielle Chanel in 1921.

The second part of the exhibition is an invitation to decipher the original codes of the brand: the tweed jacket, the two-tone shoes, the 2.55 bag and its exquisite jewelery, as indispensable component of Chanel look.

More than 350 pieces from the Palais Galliera, Patrimoine de Chanel and some international museums, as well as pieces from private collectors, come to life to celebrate style and timeless fashion icon.

The retrospective is open from October 1, 2020 until March 14, 2021.
