Inspired by ancient Greece, Mary Katrantzou's Spring / Summer 2020 collection is very fashionable. Echoing the belief based on the pure power of colour, which significantly affects our moods, each outfit has been made in a single hue, with tonal embroidery of feathers, pearls, and Swarovski crystals. Here, as Plato wrote, "colour is a flame that springs from every type of body:" Aegean blue, Tyrian violet, white and black marble compose this collection of spectacular dresses - a true prismatic spectrum.

On the podium, everything is 100% Greek, of course: the shoes are ancient Greek sandals, hand-made by local artisans using traditional ancestral techniques. The jewels come from the historical archives of the house of Bvlgari - established and based in Rome, but whose founder, Sotirio Voulgaris, was born in the Greek mountains. Finally, the show's music was specially created by Vangelis, an award-winning Greek composer.

Founded by Marianna V. Vardinoyannis in 1990, ELPIDA has raised awareness of childhood cancer in Mediterranean and Balkan societies, mobilising volunteers and achieving huge fundraising goals. Before it was created, children with cancer were doomed because no state could afford the high cost of treatment. Today, a hospital has been offered to the Greek nation to allow access to all children, regardless of their financial capacity. Members of ELPIDA include Kofi Annan, Bill Clinton, Pope, Queen Rania of Jordan, Brigitte Macron, Michael Schumacher, Barack, and Michelle Obama, and the late Princess Diana.
