After the holidays, the desire to prolong and enhance your tanned complexion is undoubtedly felt. To do this, there are some very simple tips that will allow the tan to stay until the end of summer, and even in autumn, if properly followed.
To prolong your tan, start by opting for cool showers and avoiding hot baths. Hot water can dry out and peel the skin. After bathing, don't forget to always moisturise the skin of the whole body with a suitable oil or cream.
Moisturise the Skin
It is very important to nourish the skin and hydrate it properly. Apply cream, body butter or lotion all over your body after your morning shower, but also before bedtime. When using face cream, remember to moisturise the neck and décolleté area, too. And don't hesitate to moisturise your hands with cream several times a day!
Exfoliation of the Skin
To keep the skin healthy, sufficiently hydrated and not to lose its beautiful tan, it is important to help it regenerate. Use a gentle body scrub once or twice a week, it will help remove dead cells and prevent peeling of the skin. After exfoliation, wash with lukewarm water and apply a moisturiser.
An Enriched Diet
To maintain not only a tanned but also glowing complexion, include foods rich in beta carotenes in your diet. Most of them are found in sweet potatoes, apricots, mangoes, and carrots. Beta-carotene is a provitamin and an antioxidant that helps protect the body from the effects of free radicals.
Drink Enough Water
Make sure you drink enough water to keep your body hydrated. Water prolongs cell life (as well as the golden skin surface), helps the body cleanse and regenerate itself, and gives the skin softness and bounce.
White blouses, dresses or overalls are a simple trick to enhance the effect of tanned skin. The immaculate clothes thus contrast with the golden colour of the skin.
