It is nothing new that eyebrows are an essential part of our beauty routine. Able to influence expression and personality traits, knowing how to identify the ideal eyebrow style is not that simple, even if it may seem so. With this in mind, to clarify any doubts on this topic, Daniele Carlim, an instructor in the eyebrow design course at the Embelleze Institute, explains to us which shapes are ideal for each type of face and why!
"They require a harmonious design which matches the person's face. They have a fundamental role in harmonizing the face and transmit personality, so, they are essential to create the perfect mold on each face. Even the size of the nose and the mouth has to be taken into account."
Precision, symmetry, enhancement of the most beautiful features: to create the perfect result, each person requires a different assessment. To make easier developing the ideal design, combining faces with eyebrow shapes is the best technique to avoid mistakes.
The oval face is characterized by a wider forehead and thinner cheeks. In this case, arched eyebrows with a light outline are usually a good option, but it is important not to overdo it.
"A slight angulation in the wires brings all the balance to this face, and arching them too much can even pass an expression of bad mood," indicates the instructor.
For a square face, the cheeks are more prominent and the chin is the part that usually draws the most attention, so Dani highlights that dividing the focus of the chin region with a well-defined eyebrow and with a more sharp curve at the ends, helps to soften the expression.
In this case, the more horizontal, or straight, the eyebrows are the more they will harmonise with a long face.
"Preventing them from becoming too curved is essential to not give the impression of an even longer face," comments the instructor.
In this case, in which the forehead is more prominent than the chin, the professional from the Embelleze Institute says that the elongated and straight eyebrows may work better to harmonise with the face.
The triangular face is characterised by a small forehead, high cheekbones and a thin chin. Rounded eyebrows work very well in this shape of the face, giving a striking image and preventing the forehead from looking even smaller.
Tricks to Enhance the Look
In addition to properly groomed eyebrows and the ideal shape, other tips from the instructor can help to further enhance the eye area and, consequently, the look.
"Did those 'out of place' hairs start to grow? I don't recommend taking them off immediately, because depending on their size, they are not yet ready to be plucked. In order not to bother, the best companion at these times is the pencil to fill in to add volume and colour, this will make the unwanted hairs stay in the background and not be noticed," says Daniele.
Another tip is to raise the expression. "The illuminating shadow is a great ally to give that look up, just apply it on the outer corner, just below the eyebrows, to enhance the contour and the look. On the eyebrows itself, a very cool tip is to comb the hair upwards. with the help of a brush, and apply a clear mascara. This technique really works."
