Roger Vivier’s Fall Winter Collection is a Glamorous, Cinematic Experience

This season, Roger Vivier reminds us of the fun and glam in life with their new Fall/Winter Collection.

Roger Vivier's creative director Gherardo Felloni is on a mission: To bring a bit of Hollywood glam back into everyone's dreary, post-pandemic lives. The brand's new Fall Winter collection is proof of that.

The shoes in this collection are showstoppers: Provocative silhouettes, bold metal accents, and timeless materials make for a collection that's fit for the silver screen.

Top of our lust-list is the Covered Buckle Platform Boot — guaranteed to release anyone's naughty side. Meanwhile, the Platform Covered Buckle Sling Back is better suited for a more demure, yet sultry, look. For those looking for a perfect middle ground between the two silhouettes, there's the classy Platform Covered Buckle Bootie.

Most pieces in the collection don the brand's iconic buckle — this time, however, the signature look gets rebirthed into a jewel on the Viv Choc Bag. A reimagination of the Choc Heel created by Roger Vivier himself in 1959, Felloni combines sleek and sophistication for this picture-perfect winter wardrobe essential.

For those who need a little more room, there's the RV Bucket Bag. The roomy bag comes in either suede or leather with a palette muted winter colours. The versatile bag can be worn over the shoulder or across the body, thanks to its smooth leather inserts and a drawstring closure.

Accompanying the collection is a short film, written by and starring Gherardo Felloni himself. Alongside the creative director were doppelgangers of old Hollywood’s stars: Josephine Baker, Marlene Dietrich, Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe and Edith Piaf.

The short film plays out an audition for a digital show (much to the Hollywood stars’ dismay) that never takes place, a satirical nod towards the change in the world of haute-coutour ever since the pandemic. The DOWESHOW? is eccentric — almost unsettling — and undoubtedly humorous.
