New Faces: Ira Pavlova

Tell us about your modeling career?

I was scouted on the streets of Moscow and my first modeling trip was to Milan. I walked on Milan Fashion Week for brands such as Philip Plein and Pinko, worked with Dolce&Gabbana, Dsquared2 and Just Cavalli. After my first successful agency contract I started to receive invitations from other agencies around the world which resulted in my working in Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Thailand, Turkey. Last 4 years I've been working and living in NYC.

What was your first modeling job?

My first modeling job was for a fashion show for a Moscow designer Viva Vox. The shoes were so high which made me even more nervous. I remember that time I put double sided tape on my feet so they would stick to my shoes. I believe it helped me get through my first runway. At the end everything went great, but doesn't matter how many shows I've done already (maybe 100 or more) it's always an adrenaline rush for me to go to the stage.

You worked with so many great photographers and designers, what is the project you are most proud of?

This year I had an incredible opportunity to be starring in an HBO MAX TV Series ‘Gossip Girl’. It was a secret, 7 months ago, when we filmed it. Today I’m so happy and proud that I can share this exciting news with you. The first episode premiered July 8th. Other exciting moment for me was wearing a beautiful piece from Christopher John Rogers collection during filming a fashion show episode.

Do you see yourself as a commercial or fashion model?

Definitely more as a fashion model, as it's easy for me to take a job as runway model or model for editorial shoots in the magazine. I can look so different in different makeup, clothes and looks. I believe it also allows me to be in demand as my appearance can easily be transformed.

What is your skincare routine?

I follow 3 main rules in my everyday routine: drink enough water, go to sleep on time and eat healthy food. I believe that you are what you are eating. Of course, I also go through all beauty rituals, such as cleansing and moisturizing, but it would be secondary for me.

Tell us the secret of your successful modeling career!

I was lucky to meet great people on my modeling path, I think the main secret that I learned from these people, if I went to a casting or shoot, was how to become better and do the maximum I can on the stage and backstage.

What was the most exiting event for you this year?

I enjoy helping the new generation come into the modeling industry. I wish when I start my path someone could lead me through my first career steps. Cosmos US Pageant invited me to be a judge in the 2021 Modeling Contest which was held in Orlando in July. Also, I present a masterclass there to the contestants on "How to become a fashion model and be signed with a top modeling agency". I was so excited to be a part of this fascinating event. I hope I inspired them. I know they inspired me.
